Just like your home, websites are built up from different pieces. Learning how to build a website is learning how to properly use each of these pieces.
Planning is as important when you build a website as when you build a home. But how do you plan how to build a website?
Well, you surely have an idea for a website or you wouldn’t have looked for how to build one. Let us say that you want to build a website on “mittens”. This becomes our primary keyword. Everything else will flow for this one word. How? Simple, with ten minutes of research we can see if this is a good niche to enter or if we should look for another one.
First we need to know how many websites out there specially cater to the mittens crowd. We do this by performing an exact search or the word “mittens”. To simplify this guide on how to make a website, let us say there are 100 websites specifically for mittens. Wow, this niche isn’t very full.
Now before we go any further, you’re not ready to start making your website just yet. We need to see how many searches are performed each month for “mittens”. Remember, look for the exact number of searches performed rather than the broad match to ensure your data is accurate.
This is one mistake that a lot of people make when they first start learning how to make a website.
In our example here we find that exactly 200 people look for our keyword each month. That means that there are two searchers for every website out there.
Great, now we know that if we were to make a website on this topic, we would have a really good chance to rank when a user performs a search.
As you can see, this can really make an impact on how well your website can perform.
