eMillionaire/EZ Net Income Program Experience – Adwords Tutorial

EZ Net Income Training Videos

EZ Net Income Training Videos

When I last wrote I was going to start the Adwords training section of the eMillionarie/EZ Net Income pages. I’ve learned since then there are two parts to this training: 1) Adwords and 2) Adwords Advanced. The third training video is around WordPress. In this post I’ve focused on the first Adwords training section.

This section presented me with 6 videos totalling approximately 60 minutes of information. The topics I worked through were:

How do I set up Adwords for the first time?

  • This video was about how to set up an AdWords account, create a campaign, and set up billing/payments.
  • HINT: I learned from comparing what I was being taught by the video author, Wes, versus starting to create an Adwords account myself, that it would cost me $5.00 US to activate an Adwords account. Also, when I first started to set up my account Adwords expected me to set up a campaign immediately. Wes did not cover this point! The information I was able to find on of how to use Adwords itself on the Adwords site, without an account, was VERY light.

How do I read my Account Snapshot page?

  • I was provided information as to how to read the Campaign Management tab snapshot of an account such as Active Campaigns and Campaign Performance.
  • Terms and definitions associated with an Adwords account were also provided.
  • Examples of terms covered were Clicks, Impressions, CTR (click through ratio), Average CPC (cost per click), etc.

What is Adwords Quality Scores?

  • Wes showed what Adwords Quality Scores are and how they are calculated referencing the requirements outlined in the Google AdWords help section.

How do I read my Campaign Summary page and set up and manage campaigns?

  • In this video I was shown how to create a new campaign, edit an existing one, pause and delete campaigns.
  • Nearly a dozen options for editing a campaign were reviewed. Examples of options covered were: Deliver Method, Conversion Optimizer (NEW), Search, Device Platform, Ad Scheduling, etc.

How do I set up, view and manage individual Campaigns?

  • At this point I was actually looking at a specific campaign itself and the keywords utilized.
  • Within the campaign I learned I could pause, resume or delete the campaign and see the budget and target settings. I could also add keywords, edit existing keywords, customize columns, pause and un-pause keywords, and use the Keyword Analysis Tool.
  • The Google Key Word Analysis Tool can indicate if an ad is showing up or not and provide pointers if the ad isn’t showing up. This tool will be expanded upon more in the next point below.

What is the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and how do I use it?

  • In this video I was informed of what the Google Adwords Keyword Tool was, how useful it could be, and two ways to use the tool, one of them not being well known.
  • Wes continues to go on about how I could use these searches to build my actual campaigns.

Google Keyword Analysis Tool

Now, the question that kept leaping to my mind as I was going through the 6 videos was, “Couldn’t I learn all this from Adwords directly, for free?” The tutorial author, Wes, often referenced back to Adwords and I could see the value of the Adwords tutorials with my Adwords account. However, Wes’s interpretation of the information was also very helpful in increasing my understanding of Adwords itself and its various components.

Unfortunately I couldn’t test my theory further of who was teaching me more, Wes or Adwords, because at the time of writing these journals I wasn’t prepared to create an Adwords account. However, what I did try to do was search within Google itself without committing to an account for more free information. Sorry to say, there wasn’t too much to find except the Google Keyword Analysis Tool externally to an Adwords account, and that was because Wes gave me the search term. So, at this point Wes wins as I’ve learned quite a bit of detail in how to start my Adwords campaigns from his first tutorial.

Also, I have to add that the way Wes presented the information was very useful. It was done in a manner best suited to my frame of mind – as a user trying to find the best way to optimize Adwords. This included providing information on how to prepare my landing site to its best advantage for my Adwords campaigns and how to use the Google Key Words Tool reports to actually set up and create campaigns.

Now I know I promised in my first journal post I would share some of the gems I’ve learned from the eMillionaire/EZ Net Income tutorials (and I will). I’ve tried to provide some glimpses of some of the gems, in the bullets below so you can see some of the value I’ve gained (even if it is incredibly confusing to sign up for this online training material.) However, I can’t give all the goodies away. This product, by rights, belongs to Brock Felt and his team. So with that said, I’ll only highlight a few gems I’ve gained from the Adwords tutorial section.

  • The biggest mistake I could make is to rely solely on a keyword tool to tell me what my business is about. A keyword tool can help me but I really need to start with a pen and paper and brainstorm about my product(s) and the relevant words for that product. After a good brainstorming session I’ll be better prepared to make use of a keyword tool.
  • I should keep the chosen time zone the same between all my tracking/analytic software I use. This enables me to ensure I’m comparing similar data.
  • The higher the CTR the less cost per clicks to me.
  • If I delete a campaign its past data will be viewable but I won’t be able to turn it back on, unlike the pause option.

OK, before I close off this post I want to add a few new insights I’ve learned since starting to investigate this product.

I’ve done more investigation around who is Brock Felt, the creator of this product using the terms “Brock Felt” and “EZ Net Income“. I’ve googled him and unfortunately I’ve found a mixture of both great and poor reviews. I’ve also googled the product and there are a lot of confused people out there who missed the small print and think it’s a scam / rip off. If you, from what I’ve provided in my journal posts, think you may be interested in this product please take a moment and do your research and see what you find and make your own decision. Remember, in no manner are Trish and I endorsing Brock Felt, his products or his team. However, what we are providing is more information in regards to this particular product and sharing our experience and lessons we’ve learned – from our point of view.

The information I’ve gathered is still valuable to me regardless of the reputation of the creator; that I can judge for myself. But I can’t judge it for you, our readers. I’ll leave you with this quote I keep in mind when I’m working on researching, investigating, or learning about new products and systems:

It is in the doing with awareness that the learning comes.” -William Horwood, Duncton Quest
